The Baltimore Ravens have announced that wide receiver Diontae Johnson has been suspended for one game due to behavior detrimental to the team.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Ravens explained that Johnson had declined to participate in the team's Week 13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. As a result, he will miss Baltimore's Week 15 matchup against the New York Giants following the team’s bye week.
The full statement from general manager Eric DeCosta reads:
"After careful consideration, we have decided to suspend Diontae Johnson for our next game against the New York Giants due to conduct that negatively impacts the team.
"Diontae's suspension is a direct consequence of his refusal to play in our game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
"We will not be making any additional comments on this issue moving forward."
