The UFC's pay-per-view model will become obsolete starting next year, as the organization has secured a new broadcast agreement with Paramount+ that might usher in a new era of event organization. On Monday, the UFC revealed it has entered into a seven-year, $7.7 billion media rights deal with Paramount, and CEO Dana White is enthusiastic about the future.

As part of the deal, all 13 numbered UFC events will be broadcast on Paramount+, with a select number also being simulcast on CBS. In an interview with CBS Sports, White offered some insight into what the new event model might look like.

A New Vision: 'Four Big Events' and a White House Fight

White indicated that the UFC may shift its focus to a few major events per year. "It's looking like we’re going to do four big events," White said. He then shared an ambitious idea that could be a centerpiece of the new partnership. "We’re talking about doing a fight at the White House next year on the 4th of July — the 250th anniversary of America. So imagine a massive fight on the lawn of the White House on CBS.”

This statement suggests the UFC could have four "tent-pole" events, featuring the promotion's top talent and providing a fresh approach to its numbered cards. White was more vague when asked about the possibility of stars like Conor McGregor and Jon Jones returning as part of the new deal, stating that he is "always looking to bring in the best talent to put on the greatest fights."

A Win for Fans and Athletes

White believes the deal is a major win for fans, as it moves away from the pay-per-view model and provides a more affordable way to watch the fights. "I love where this is headed," White said. "Not only if you’re a UFC fan do you get away from the pay-per-view model, now you’re just paying $12 or $13 a month or whatever it is and you get all this other programming plus all the UFC content.”

White also sees a major upside in being aligned with Paramount's vision and content library. "I love the idea of being on Paramount+," White said, highlighting the streaming service's popular shows like South Park and Yellowstone. He believes the deal, which comes shortly after Skydance purchased Paramount, is a great deal for the promotion, its athletes, and its fans.

For now, White is focused on overseeing the launch of the latest Contender Series and UFC 319, but he expects the UFC-Paramount partnership to make a "big impact" when it begins in 2026. "I woke up this morning and said, ‘Today is gonna be a great day,’” White concluded.
